What’s happening next?
England travel to Ljubljana to take on second-place Slovenia on Sunday and victory would move them nine points clear of their opponents with four games remaining. Given that San Marino are up next in September, England could be just 180 minutes away from confirming a top-two finish and their place at Euro 2016.
So will they make it?
Despite failing to impress in Dublin at the weekend, England are seen as near certainties to win Group E let alone qualify for the tournament. Sky Bet have them at 1/25 to win their group.
NORTHERN IRELAND
How have they done so far?
Michael O’Neill’s team have surpassed all expectations thus far in winning four of their five qualifying games to sit second in Group F at the halfway stage. The team’s away form has been the revelation with Kyle Lafferty’s late winner in Hungary setting the tone before a 2-0 victory over 2004 winners Greece really ignited the nation’s hopes.
